How we actually score the games we review
People ask how our ratings work, so here's the honest version. A score is never one person's opinion. At least two of us play a game before it gets a number.
We weigh a few things: how the controls feel on a phone, whether the core loop stays fun after the novelty fades, and how respectful the game is of your time. Fun matters more than polish.
A game in the low fours is genuinely good and worth trying. Anything higher earned it by keeping the whole team hooked, which is rarer than you'd think.
Scores are subjective, and that's fine. We'd rather give you an honest opinion you can argue with than a fake objective number.
