Getting the most from turn-based RPGs on mobile
Turn-based combat suits phones better than almost any other genre. You can pause, think, and play in short bursts, which is exactly how most of us game on the go.
Ember Crown Saga is a good example of doing it right. The trick with games like it is to not auto-battle everything. The systems only get interesting when you actually read enemy weaknesses and build your party around them.
My general tip is to invest early in one reliable healer or support character. It smooths out the difficulty spikes that always show up around the mid-game, and it lets you take risks in tougher fights.
Also, don't hoard your best items. So many RPG players finish the story with a bag full of unused potions. Use them, experiment, and let the combat breathe.
